Hello, I have a FX-7811 laptop. What happens is, whenever I open up a game, it will play smooth for about 5-10 minutes, then I will experience somewhat between 30-60 seconds of lag. This happens on even the simplest of games. The problem isn;t that my computer can't run it, it's that I think I might have fried my GPU. It all started after I plugged in a second monitor. At the time, I thought it was a good idea because I could watch a movie while gaming or writing an essay. I think that extra moniter could have killed my GPU.
What I need help on are my options to fix it. I don't want to take it down to my local computer shop for them to tell me something I already know. Can I buy a replacement laptop GPU or should I just buy a new laptop? Is there a trick I can use to fix it? I'm not a hardware person, so I haven't risked actually taking apart my laptop since the GPU is buried deep inside. Thanks for taking the time to read this long post.

Theres nothing wrong with the GPU, its just really old and it cant keep up with the new games, so you'll experience some lag

The thing is, all the games that are lagging were smooth before I plugged in the second moniter.
