I recently got a Fractal R4 and Hyper 212 EVO. I originally had a mid case from my buddy for my first build and stock heatsink. I wasn't having heating issues, just wanted something nice, quiet and cool.

Being a beginner, I'm not sure what my best option for controlling the fans are.

mobo AMD Fatality 990FX
stock R4 fan hooked up in the front to the fan controller at 7v
stock R4 fan hooked up in the rear to cha_fan
Noctua A15 at the top/exhaust hooked up to cha_fan
Cougar 120mm at the bottom/intake hooked up to cha_fan
stock evo fan in push and another cougar 120mm as pull hooked up to cpu_fan (evo fan already came with bracket/rubber pads on and didn't feel like switching it to the other cougar -.-)

I have speedfan, but not sure which fans show up as which. Would it be easier to just set up a fan profile from the bios? But I really like looking at speedfan and seeing what the temps are when I'm using the computer. Kind of at a crossroads here(or can I do both?). Apologize if this is more of a software question.

Just wondering if someone could either explain what I'm looking at in speedfan or assist me in setting up something from the bios because I'm pretty sure the fans don't need to run at 100% all the time. I greatly appreciate your time, thank you.

Your motherboard comes with a software (I think it is called Fstream or something). You can install it from your software CD or download it. That software has a display showing which fan is which and at what RPM. Not sure if that is the kind of thing you are looking for. If you want to have a look at how this software looks like, just do a google image search for "fatality 990fx fstream".
