Hello guys!

Step-by-step would be helpful as I'm still learning all the parts related to storage/transfers, ect. :)

I had read that this can decrease the performance of the SSD?

I would also like a fresh install to get rid of a lot of bloat-wear.

Btw, it's a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB.

Thanks for the reply!

Do you have the license key? Probably printed on the case?

If so, download the relevant official ISO file from here:
http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-...

Install with your existing key.

It 'might not' work with an OEM license, but worth a try.

So I can just use the home premium ISO and use the Microsoft USB Tool to make a boot-able USB drive?

Will I be able to use the OEM CD key?

And does it matter what 'version' I get? (I think that's what they are?) It says mine is X15-37356

Thanks again!

Yes

Get the same 'version' you have now. Home Premium or whatever.

It should not have resulted in a WinRAR file. The extension should be .iso

Really?:/
The download just resulted in a WinRAR file, using the website linked.

Would I have to use another program to convert it to an ISO?

Look at the actual file and extension. Your system may have WinRAR as the default application for ISO files.

I haven't got access to method stated it was a WinRAR file?

Should the X17-58997 file be an ISO on download then?

If you downloaded it from the digitalriver link above, it is an ISO file.
Your system may associate ISO with WinRAR, but it is indeed an ISO file.

Ah I see! Thank you! So if I make sure it's recognised as an ISO I can use the windows 7 USB tool? Thank you!

Yes, exactly. I have downloaded multiple files from that exact location, and they are all indeed ISO files.
