I have an AMD FX-8350 cpu, Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard, MSI Radeon R9 280 gpu, a PNY optima 240gb ssd, and Seagate Barracuda 1TB hdd.

I'm probably being overly paranoid here, but I've downloaded the chipset, LAN, USB, and audio drivers from Gigabyte and when I run the setup for the chipset the install is catalyst and I know that is the AMD GPU driver and when installing it makes it sound like it is for an AMD GPU. I'm just wondering if this is right for the chipset or if I need to find another setup file in that driver folder?

Also another question, do I need to just run one setup from each driver folder, some of them have two different setup files, do I need to go into the folders in the driver and run any of those setups?

Thanks for reading my question and providing any help.

Catalyst also has controls for the CPU. So long as you've downloaded from Gigabyte directly and the used the links provided for your specific model it should work. When I tried downloading the drivers you listed, they came as executable files.

Thanks for your help.

My motherboard has on/off charging for the usb ports and I was wondering if I need to install that off of the motherboard disc. Is there anything on the disc that comes with the motherboard I may want?

When I helped a friend put together their AMD rig, we just installed everything from the disk and then updated from there.
