Will a Radeon R9 270X be enough to play GTA V smoothly in Ultra settings?

I'm wondering if the GPU Radeon R9 270X (it's from Sapphire, but that isn't important) will be enough to play GTA V smoothly (30 to 50 FPS) in Ultra settings. It was announced to be on PC two weeks ago, and it'll come out in October probably, but considering Max Payne 3 I think it'll be well optimized, unlike GTA: IV.

If the answer is not, I wonder if I can play it in High settings or Medium settings.

I do also wonder if this GPU will be able to play Star Wars: Battlefront (the new one), though it'll come out in 2015.

No problem, let's see if anyone has the answer to the question here. I think the R9 270X will be able to play GTA V in Ultra smoothly, but I want to be sure. About the Star Wars: Battlefront game I think I shouldn't have asked, as the game is coming out in 2015, and hey, it's a year of difference!

It will work since i have played Ryse son of rome in ultra setting 1080p res and gave me about 55-70 fps so smooth, and one more thing crytech games are much more photorealitic than rockstar games since its the same game engine used for max payne 3 it will work smoothly and there will be no lag in playing if the surrounding is crowded or not. So in the end R9 270x 2gb will easily work.

since most games need maximum 1280 stream processors which r9 has so i am very much sure it will work.

I think the game was released in 2013 it doesn't have any modern graphics enhancement... And I read its minimum system specifications...
Processor : Intel i5
Graphics : NVIDIA gtx 530ti
Ram: 4 Gb
OS : Win 7 64-bits
I think r9 270x should be enough to run GTA 5 in Ultra high graphics.

Hey .. I know it's a little late ... But i have a solution for you. I am using the same card and I'm in touch with the developers. Don't worry at 1080p and with an i5 processor and 8gb of ram you should be able to run it on 50-60 fps with no issues.

this is a question!
the 270x 4gb or 270x 2gb vram?
I got a Radeon R9 270x 2gb of vram.
but will the processor amd fx-8320 be powerful enough?

I'm running exactly the same card (2GB model) on an Intel Core i3, and at 1080p, it is incredibly smooth. I've turned up as much as I can -- most things are on high -- but the game has a handy meter that tells you when you've maxed out your video memory, so you can tweak it to suit you.

When you're driving fast around the city there will be a very slight stutter every so often, but that could be because I'm running the game off an HDD rather than an SDD, and it's a massive game.

If you want 60fps, however, you're probably going to need to get something a little better. The 270X will go above 60fps at times, but when there's a lot of action, it'll drop down to arounbd 35. It never goes below 30, however.

Oh man, this really helps :)
It would suck If I'd pay 60 euro for a game and I wouldn't even be able to play it.
And I've seen gameplays where I can see that meter, so I knew about that.
And about the SSD, I got an SSD with a total space of 238 GB, and I only have 125 GB left on my SSD.
I will most likely put it on my HDD since I heard the game is like 80GB large? rumours along my friends say even 100.. and since I still got 800GB left I'll put it on my hdd.. you think it'll make a diffrence?
And I really appreciate your reply man, :) It helped me out a lot!

Hello, JustANewUser!

It seems you have gotten your answer already but I'll post anyway :)

I have a Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Dual-X with 2GB memory. GTA V is a memory-eater like new games nowadays are. However, based on my experience so far, I can pretty much max out every other setting but Texture Quality I've set to normal because the increase in memory usage is really big if I set it to High. So I lose some detail in some of the game objects but the game is still beautiful. I haven't measured my FPS yet but I am able to play at 1080p smoothly and I haven't faced any lags so far.

My rig:
Intel Xeon E3-1231 v3
AsRock H97M Pro4
Sapphire Radeon R9 270X Dual-X 2GB
8 GB of RAM
256 GB SSD (where the game's located)
1Tb HDD

Got updated drivers? got full game support, is it gta 5 you are talking about or 4.
Cz 5 is really really really good optimized in my opinion.
My friend has the same pc as I do, and has the EXACT same pc specs, als a r9 270x 2gb and he runs gta 5 at high with sometimes 60 fps and with driving or big chaos in the game it may drop down to around 35, but nothing below that.
