Is this second hand rig worth it for $1100?

Hi,
I have an offer of buying this particular config for $1100.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Vty3mG

I have been out of touch of the latest hardware tech for the last couple of years. I did a little bit of research into this config and noticed that SSD is out of date and there are newer versions at less than half the price. I would have preferred to get it without the SSD and buy my own but the seller prefers to see it all at once. He assembled his system in August 2013.

Could you guys please take a look at this config and tell me if its worth it. My budget for a new system is $1200. So, if I can get a new and better system for that amount, I will not bite on this.

My requirements:
I am in the 3D graphics industry, so I will be using my PC for Maya, Houdini and other software.
I have never had a PC good enough for gaming in my entire life. I am assuming the NV760 will be decent enough to run the latest games at medium settings atleast.

This is my first post on tomshardware. So I might have missed some information and provided inadequate detail. Please let me know if I did.

Thanks

Thanks for taking a look guys.
Yes, I am planning to buy a secondary hard disk. And since most of the 3D software are CPU multi-threaded, I thought the i7 would be a better bet here. I do agree that the graphics card is not top notch but this is exactly why I am confused about this offer.

The SSD seems expensive to me. There are ongoing offers for 250GB SSDs for $100 at TigerDirect with rebate. Also, I was taking a look at the forums and there are sticky threads but just two categories for Intel gaming PCs - budget ( <$1000) and high end (<$2000). My requirements fall somewhere in between. I just wanted to get an idea if I could build something better at $1200.
Do you have any suggestions?

Sry, i skimmed and stupidly assumed it was just for gaming. Being in the 3d industry the rig looks a lot better 4 the price. The ssd is a rip off and since its not ment as a hard core gaming machine as the primary use the psu is over kill.

Below are a few suggestions for your build.

I suggest you Get a Z97 and a 4970k when it comes out. " Stick with a Asus Motherboard"
I recommend you get a Asus Gtx 780
Get a Samsung ev0 250 that is around $140
Get 16 gb of 2133 memory
Seasonic is a good choice for a PSU

The Rig should be below 2k with these modifications and much better for gaming and also better for graphics.

There is no official confirmation about the release date of 4970k and I am not actually looking to overclock this thing. I would be pretty happy with the stock speeds of the CPU. And my budget is more near 1k than 2k. I believe the latest set of components would be quite expensive to begin with (DDR4 Ram + mobo + cpu).
780 is an awesome choice, but only if I decide to pass on this PC and plan to build a new one by myself. But again, my budget would hover around $1200 for a new PC.

According to newegg the 4790k will come out in 4 days.

If you're happy with the stock speeds the 4790k would give you 4.0-4.4 with a stock cooler.

The Motherboard doesn't support DDR 4, you're thinking about Haswell E.

The Motherboard and cpu are about the same price as there z87, 4770k counterparts.

I would pass on this PC unless he or she gives it to you for $900 and you're sure that it's problem free.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know the release is right around the corner. Sure, I get your point and thanks for your valuable input. I will try to relay this information to the seller too and check if I can get it at a lower price.
