I just purchased an i7 4770k processor, samsung 840 evo ssd, crucial ballistix extreme 16gb set of 2 eight gb sticks, windows 7 home premium, an lg 24x optical drive, and an asus sabertooth z97 mark 1 board. I am using my old seasonic 620w power supply and my sapphire radeon 7850hd gpu.

I have been getting constant bsod's. I am able to boot into bios absolutely fine, I was able to before the windows 7 install. I am not sure if this is an issue with the windows 7 install or the samsung ssd. After installing windows 7 I ran the asus drivers disc that came with the mobo. I had probably 30-50 bsod's... I powered through it to be able to connect to the internet. I was hoping those drivers would solve it, but alas no. I tried to install the amd catalyst drivers, but it bsod's when I begin to install every time.

I think I'm going to re-install windows and try again. If anyone has anything else to add, possibly a cable I missed connecting, really anything for me to go and check, please tell me. I'm about ready to pull my hair out. Never had any issues like this before, but this is also the first pc I've ever put together. I figured hey, it boots up, must've hooked it all up right. Well, maybe that's the issue as well. If you wanna post a step by step check of what should be hooked up go ahead.

Thanks to everyone, hope I can get this solved. Off to re-install windows.

I will definitely try your suggestion. I don't know why I didnt, as I had seen it in other google searches. Also, I think my ram is being recognized as 1333 mhz and not 1866. Anything to get that changed?

Re-installing windows seems to have fixed everything. Not a single bsod since I did it, and didn't change anything else in bios. I didn't do the easy tuning wizard this time though, which must've overclocked the cpu and ram. I thought I did it conservatively when it just said 25% on cpu and 43% on ram, maybe that's what caused the issues.

Thanks for posting back though. Time to go be bottle-necked by my 7850 lol.
