Preparing automatic repair

My gateway windows 8 is stuck on preparing automatic repair it wi just go to a black screen . What can I do to fix this?

Try a system restore instead. When you next boot up, tap F8 repeatedly. Go into safe mode. Under computer properties select system restore to a time point where your system last worked properly. It will prompt you to restart. You should be good to go. Good luck! Please update us!
