I need Help with this stupid computer

Ok well i got i decent gaming rig and its been causing me some problems lately, Im trying to play ghost recon fantoms the F2P one and it runs smooth as butter for a few minutes then BAM a huge lag spike that makes the game unplayable for around 10 seconds, then it clears up and continues to play smooth again. After about another minute i get another one of those lag spikes and so on throughout the whole game, (Btw this happens in all games not just this one) its really starting to frustrate me now and I would like to know what the problem is before i go insane, thanks.

Many things to consider... could be a trojan/virus using your CPU resources, could be your CPU/Video card overheating thus throttling down causing the fps drop, could be games start to use pagefile (virtual memory) heavily instead of RAM (this would happen only if something else is eating your RAM, back again to trojan/virus)...

Monitor your resources with procexp or something similar and cpu/gpu temps with hwinfo or AIDA64 which could monitor and log all of this to see what happens right when you get those spikes.

If all games are online also consider that instability on your connection could cause the symptom you described.
