I have a ssd as well as an older hd in my computer. It did all work fine when I had windows 7 32 bit installed. However, I installed windows 7 64 bit recently. When i did this i formated my other hd not the ssd. Because none of my games on the hd would work anymore, assuming this is because they were installed to a 32 bit operating system. So i formated that drive and was going to reinstall my games. I did a couple windows updates before installing the games to my formated hd. I did attempt to start downloading my games and it would not let me download or open them on the hd i formated. I reset the computer hoping it was just glitching but now it does not see the hard drive at all. Could the HD have went bad or how can i get the bios to recognize it again? Thank You for your help!

Re-install or reformat a drive and you lose all the other info on it including the drivers. Windows has some as defaults but not all, not up to date.

Go through every device in Device Manager and make sure its drivers are up to date.

check that the hard drive on the intel or amd sata ports. some mb have 3 party sata ports and they can act strangly without the drivers. also in the bios make sure the sata ports set to achi mode. if there set to raid the drive might not show up.

I've tried both of those things all drives are up to date and ahci mode is enabled. I have tried swapping the sata cable and the power and still no luck

Do a Checkdisk on it

Try Seatools.

Do you see it in Bios? If not, double check the connections

If so, do you see it in Device Manager? If no, then its a dead hard drive.

Update the drivers. Is it working? If not then its a dead drive.

If so, does it now show up if Windows?

If not, then somethings wrong with Windows.

If so, check it with Checkdisk and Seatools. Post the results

Does not show up in bios, I checked all the data and power cables and they all work fine on my ssd but when hooked up to the hd it does not show up in bios, it did work just fine but randomly it wouldn't let me look in the folders and just showed a loading glass in the hd, so I shut down when I turned it back on it was gone and now I can't get the bios or windows to see it
