HDMI to VGA Cable

i built this new computer and the motherboard display ports (hdmi and vga) doesnt work, but the graphics card ports work perfectly (hdmi dvi) my monitor has a vga port. is it possible to use this

The ports on the motherboard aren't supposed to work when you have a GPU.

No, you can't use a cable like that (digital to analog won't work). What is your display and what is your GPU?

display is acer with a vga port and my gpu R9 radeon

Yes, a DVI-I to VGA adapter is also fine; I use one of those for my second screen.
