Dell dimension was fine one day and no power next . I just got new RAM and power on button. I pulled out the heat sink and didn't know the cpu was adhered to it, now pins bent. Will ruining the cpu cause no power?

If the CPU is not properly installed (e.g. pins not making contact), the machine will not power on.
If you have replaced the power button, I guess the wiring and motherboard connection for this switch is the first thing to check.
If that is OK, you may have damaged the CPU.

Did you pull the heat sink before you replaced the RAM or after? Exactly what order did you get the new RAM and power on switch, before or after the PC wouldn't power on?

What I am asking is: Did you get the RAM & switch because the PC wouldn't power on, or did you install the new components and now it won't power on?

VincentP is right about the CPU, bent pins are a no-good way to install a CPU.
