Hi,

Im looking to upgrade my motherboard and cpu due to my current one has started to malfunction.
My current setup is as followed:

- i5 750 @ 4 ghz
- MB: p7p55d pro
- 2x radeon 7850 in crossfire
- 16 gb 1600 mhz ram

I was wondering if the components below will give me equal or better game performance while waiting for broadwell i5 K cpus hits the market:

- CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3,2GHz Socket 1150 Box (Will be OC'ed)
- HK: Asus Maximus VII Ranger

Solution
I understand the desire for the latest and greatest but the 4670k is excellent as is. The performance gain waiting is rarely worth it. I'd just grab the i5-k and be a happy clam. I was in your boat...waiting for update..and reviews. Once I saw them I decided to get the prior gen (got 2500k over 3570k) and have never regretted it. In this upcoming case, it's really not gonna be any sort of game changer.

The 780 will eat up most of my budget. The point is to replace a fault motherboard. I would like a high end motherboard so that i can upgrade the cpu when broadwell is out. But im not sure if the pentium can run the games im playing at the moment (star citizen, BF4)

Seems that you are correct. I get the same response in other hardware forums. I'll go with the 4690K or the 4790K. Will see when i have balanced the budget. Thanks for your replys.
