So i currently have a Vengeance Corsair 4GB stick of ram in my computer and i am looking to add more. if i pick 2 more sticks of the same thing and stick them in will it work with only three out of the four slots filled?

Additional info:
MB: MSI 970A-G43
CPU: AMD FX 3.8Ghz
PSU: Raidmax 530ss

Solution
4 slots imply dual-channel memory. If you stick uneven amounts in, then it has to drop down to single-channel performance. to access all memory. IMHO it's better to keep the memory balanced.

Make sure you get the very exact same specification memory or you may also have other issues. After once getting burned with adding to existing memory (no boot-up) I learned my lesson and buy only memory kits.
