just if your fans have filter remove them clean them using a wet cloth or air,
you can also get canned air, but heard they make components oily :eek:

Do I need to hold down the fans when I blow air on them? depends on fans position , for me the fans have a good space to put my compressor there and blow air !

Do I need to remove anything other than the side panels? nope, jsut remove side panels and blow air to parts, no need to remove gpu ect, unless its so dirty !
Is it hard? NOPE!
What do I need other than compressed air? a cloth ! only for filter and fans, DONT CLEAN COMPONENTS WITH CLOTH! water
Is it likely that I could damage my components?
I built my PC in February, how often should I think about dust cleaning it ?mines easy to clean so i do it every week or less! my room has lots of dust !for you if its hard each 2months !
How do I minimize dust build up? filters , cleaning/keeping the room clean

oh i typed it , i retyped it and forgot to mention that:D

just dont touch any components and its ok, i dont think canned air has enough pressure to damage parts ! but be aware, dont touch parts, like the motherboard it self, it might shortcricut , turn off your psu and disconnect cables , wait like a min for capacitors to get empty ! but again dont touch the cricut it self, like middle of mobo,just use air, for fanfilter, its not a alive part ! with electricity, so you can use a cloth,

if you don't do anything wrong its fine, just be aware, dont put pressure on parts, dont touch cricuts thats all i can think off !

i meant only disconnect the power cable not cables inside the pc :)

Guys I have a very Dusty PC Components
Also when im cleaning my PC for the first time I broke 1 part of the Stock CPU Cooler but it's still working fine and now my PC has too much dust again I really need to tore down parts first and use a soft paint brush
Do you guys know how will i prevent or reduce dust build??

how did you broke it :eek:

btw this thread is a decade old xD

just use air and hold the fan so they don't make power and burn the mobo/psu

you can use a fan filter to reduce the dust, and wash it like once a month/week!

You know guys I cant just really use a piece of Canned Air because it is very dusty that in the point that i need to remove all the PC Parts to use a soft paintbrush on some components. The dust on my PC is beyond imagination dude. What i really need to do is to block some GOD DAMN dusts. Can you give me ideas like using brand new leggings to block the Fans so that the leggings will filter the GOD DAMN dusts. If you suggest getting a Dust Filter it might be costly here in Philippines
BTW i broke the 1 lock of Stock cooler Fan because i didnt know that there is some mechanism on it so what i do is to push and push hard that the one lock broke :'l

Especially the PSU & CPU Cooler is Full of Dust my soft paintbrush cant reach the deep silver parts of it so im just blowing it like a candle on a birthday cake. And i dont think spraying some Canned Airs on PSU will get the dust out because it'll make it go inside of the PSU
