So ofcourse I went to run and searched msconfig to change to the cores being used which was one. I have 8 cores total in my i73632QM. I was wondering before I change this, does this effect performance, and if I chang this does it come with major consequences to my cpu.

You should leave that option unselected; That is the default.

Download CPU-Z and see if you are actually only using one core, this shouldn't be the case, also in task manager does it show more than one core? also you are running a quad core CPU.

That setting doesn't actually do anything other than limit the number of processors During boot-up, but not after boot up. This only causes you to boot-up slower, since you are using less cores. That setting is really just meant for trouble-shooting problems with the CPU.

I was wondering if using more cpus on boot up will increase performance with gaming, because I went ran msconfig and went to boot and under the cpus it was set to one out of 8 on boot up. In my task manager it says four cores and 8 logical processors. My question stated above was that if i should increase from 1 (defualt) to all the way to 8 to increase performance for gaming or performance overall. Also wondered if there were consequences in this.
