That well could be. See that is what made me feel it was the RAM to start with. I have my RAM overclocked in my PC, and when I set the voltage or speed too far off then it does exactly what he is describing.

If he has overclocked it he needs to take it down to stock. Hopefully he can get in to do that though. The RAM might just be bad if he didn't. At least it is cheaper than a board to test and replace.

Double check power connections.

Reset cmos then see if it boots.

Remove all hardware except essentials needed to run. See if it boots then. If it doesnt boot, one of what is left over is the problem.

Then if it boots add hardware 1 bit at a time until you know what the problem is.

Remove case connections and start without being attached to case. It could be a case reset button problem.

i checked the connectors.. cleared the cmos then run with only processor and mobo ...no luck...i checked the mobo there is no burnt capacitor ..i also checkout the processor pins its seems ok...my bro tested the psu ..its ok...

My first thought is this is a problem with the RAM. The CPU if it was messed up always has beeps or something else to show the problems.

However RAM when it has a problem can often just start and then stop the computer like you say. After you clear the CMOS put everything in with the system and try to boot to bios cause it sounds like your RAM is messed up. If you have some other RAM you should try it.

Also the way seogoat is an old and very good way to do this, but your system may not have a speaker on the motherboard. The system without RAM and CPU will not boot. When you have a speaker on board you get beep codes step by step and know exactly what it is, but without one it doesn't work quite as well.

Good point. I haven't used the beep codes before, I just take a wild guess and if it's not that then move on the next thing :)

If the psu is fine that's great. Next thing is like IInuyasha74 said the ram, then mobo, and cpu last as I heard on here it's rare they fail unless you really fried it. As long as you disconnected everything else, it's just a process of elimination.
