as other thread says,
the gtx760 is better for 1080p gaming and most games run fine with 2gb of GPUmemory ,
if u put it that way.. does by any means that , that the R9 270x oc 4gb is more future proof than the gtx760?

im a :
minecraft (with texture mods)
GTA IV/V player (if can i would like to install the ICE mod)
BF4
BF3
COD 4MW
Dota 2
PLAYER. @ 1080p Maxx setting.currently running GTX285 SOC.
suggestion pls.. card is old and although supports most of the modern games, it just lacks of DX11 and Memory.

I got a 270x recently and it is ridiculously powerful. I only play in 1080p with a 47" tv and have been able to run everything on high / ultra with AA set to x2-x8 usually turning shadows to medium because you can't even tell the difference. The 760 cost more than the 270x and the benchmarks fluctuate a little with each of them beating the other in certain games depending on where you see it. Are you asking about the 760 or the 670 though? huge difference between the 2. on paper the are basically same with 760 have only 16 more TAUs but costing at least 30$ more.

You have a specific games list. Minecraft and all OpenGL games run better on Nvidia cards. COD: Ghosts is a PhysX game. BF3 and DOTA 2 run better on Nvidia, as does GTA IV. But BF4 and GTA V have Mantle support, which will even out the performance difference in those games.

Frankly, I recommend the Nvidia option if the price-performance is anywhere in the ballpark. There's just a lot more that you get, not least of which is better driver support (like for OpenGL games, for example), but also PhysX, Adaptive VSync, TXAA, FXAA, Geforce Experience, HBAO+, Shadowplay, etc. Adaptive VSync alone is worth staying with Nvidia. You've had plenty of time on an Nvidia card, so you ought to know as well as anyone whether you've had a positive experience, or whether its time to switch.

As it should being 100$ more expensive card. This post is funny b/c in the title he mentions 2 cards which are really not close in price or performance then in the actual thread the 760 is mentioned instead of the 670 which was in the title. I think the numbers got mixed up... nicholite do you mean the 670 or 760? it is a big difference.
