I'm looking to play heart of swarm on ultra/high, and shogun 2. I need a CPU orininted rig and have no plans to overclock.

I need help with

1. The case. Is it good will everything fit is there a cheaper one ? I only want what I need nothing more.

2. CPU cooler. Do I need it should I get a cheaper one.

3. Is that CPU good? should I get I5 4670k or a differnt one for starcraft. I don't know what is better and if the difference is worth it for what I want.

4. Besides key board, mouse and monitor. what else do I need. a hdmi cord for sound? I don't get what the case comes with.

5. Will the powersource fit. Should i get a different one?.

Here is my first post if you want more detail about I plan on doing and the rig that I worked off of.

2 Issues -

Power supply is not good, even on a deal. XFX's 550w model is far better made and has all sleeved cables.

If you want the 4690K, you need an Intel Z97 board for out-of-the-box support. Otherwise, the 4670K is fine.

Yes, the cooler will fit.
If your monitor has built-in speakers, a HDMI cable will do fine. The case is just that, a case. Your motherboard will have the necessary audio outputs, but i recommend a gaming headset for better audio. Find a CM Storm Pulse-R Headset. It is fantastic for the price and has awesome audio. It is also very well built.

No. That's your choice. The motherboard will have USB ports to plug in the wireless receivers for both the mouse and keyboard. Otherwise, just go for wired keyboards and mice.

Plus, the case comes with cable ties and instructions on how to install the motherboard into the case.

You will also need a grounding strap. You can buy one from where you are shopping for components. They are very cheap and will do you a world of good, as the components are sensitive to static electricity. As much as hover your statically charged finger over any one of your components, they will die.

I hope this helps you build your PC without problems. Always read the manuals that come with your components if you are unsure what to do next.

1. I have that case and it is amazing, it has great airflow and cable management.
2. Yes the CPU cooler will fit.
3. I suggest getting a 4670k cuz it can be Overclocked more.
4. You'll need a Optical drive. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/samsung-optical-drive-sh224dbbebe
5. I also suggest getting a different PSU cuz thermaltake has one of the worst Failure rates for power supplies.

Also dont spend too much on Ram: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/avexir-memory-avd3u16000904g2cw

PSU: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9

CPU: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i54670k

I changed in the PSU that was recommended ., and put in the optics drive. I looked for a Intel z 97 and found this

ASRock Z97 PRO3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

That mother board is $99. Should I get that even if I don't use the 4690k CPU. And I don't want to overclock does everyone agree I should get the 4690 that I'm using now. How much of a hassle is setting up the 4690 compared to the 4670k

Yea that motheboard is fine even without a 4960k, just get a 4690 since ur not to overclocking, it saves u money anyways.

What about the CPU cooler

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
It was initially for a I7 4770k cpu. Is the CPU I'm using going to want a after market cooler
?

:) if I can play heart of swarm on ultra with a mix of high and low if i have to in some areas im ok. I just want to have a smooth ride on that game , and total war shogon 2 with no hic ups during big battles. Maybe swtor .If I can do that I'm happy.

Can the CPU handle that ?

Would you suggest changing anything around graphics card ,motherboard ?

This is my last question before I make the big purchase and it is a big deal to get it right thank you in advance.

Its good but do realize that the motherboard you listed cannot do either Crossfire or SLI, if you want to do that later u are going to have to get a different MOBO that supports either one. or u can get one now and save the hassle

$300 ish would be high as i would go.

But I would prefer to stay low price wise if it can satisfy playing total war shogun 2 on medium or swtor on medium.

Or that heroes of storm moba on coming out on medium ssettings

Thank you if you don't mind what makes that gpu so special ? It has 3 gb at the end just like mine and after research people can play shogun 2 and swtor on max settings with 1 gb and 2 gb video cards. And there all lower priced than mine gpu

Yes it will only be the games I mentioned above, and the void expansion for starcraft when that comes out.

I have a Xbox 360 and don't guy games to much. I want to have a good experience with SWTOR, Total war SHOGUN 2, and the Star craft 2 series.

I also have rts games from 2005 I'm gonna try.

I don't want to build the computer around future games because of price and the ones I like are old.
