Hi Everyone,

Currently using the MSI Twin Forser II 7970 card.

Not sure if it is worth upgrading to the R9 290 or R9 290X.

I was thinking to get the sapphire version "Sapphire R9 290 VAPOR-X OC 4GB"
As the temperatures I have seen are very low Idle or Load.

What are your thoughts everyone?
Resolution using " 1920 x 1080"
CPU "AMD FX 8350 @ 4Ghz"

Thanks everyone.

Its worth switching if your fps ever drop below about 40 .

There is no point at all if you are above 60fps most of the time .
Chances are you monitor is 60Hz . Thats the same as 60 fps . The monitor can NEVER display more than 60 fps no matter how many fps are being reported by your games or FRAPS .

at 1080p is pointless to get a better gpu. Wait for nvidia's new generation cards. Right now all your games should run great at 1080p so there is no point spending a ton of money for 30% increase of what should already be a good gaming experience.

The system can handle an R9 290/290X but I don't think the change will be worth the expense unless you have either a 1440 res/120/144Hz monitor.
I'm in a similar situation, with slightly lesser hardware (see avatar) and can't decide on whether to stick with my current rig and upgrade next year or go for a R9 290 now and plonk it into a new Devils Canyon build later.
If someone built a 22" 120Hz display I'd already have an R9 290, though. ;)

Well all games are running good as you say but "Watch Dogs" being a high demanding game, 7970 struggles a lot.

Has GTA 4 been optimised for PC yet?
Last time I played it on PC it was horrible.
