Hello and thank you for stopping by!
I am interested in upgrading the motherboard and processor of my computer. My current specs are:

CPU: Intel Core i7 960 @ 3.20GHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 2GB 760
Mobo: Gigabyte G1. Guerrilla
12 gigs of RAM
800W Apex PSU

I recently purchased the 760 and I understand that it needs a PCI Express 3.0 slot but my Mobo only has 1.0. However, under the specifications of my Mobo it says the 1.0 slot conforms to the 2.0 standard so is my GPU running under a 1.0 or 2.0 slot?

I am interested in this Motherboard:

And this CPU:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KPRWB9G/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Is this overkill? I use my PC mainly for gaming and watching streams/movies. Do I NEED to upgrade? How much is the GPU being bottle-necked by my current build? Thank you for any help/advice ANYone can provide!

Picked a great mobo, did a build on the A just acouple weeks ago, and the 4690K will be a good one with it, yours has the new TIM on it so should OC extremely well, the 4670K, the 4970Ks predecessor is even great on the Z97-A, should make for a nice rig

Well the 760 requires a PCI Express 3.0 slot to be used at it's full potential. If I wanted to upgrade my Motherboard, I'm not sure if whatever I choose to get will support my current processor so I would need to upgrade that as well. If however, my GPU is not being bottle-necked by too much then I will reconsider but I'm not sure how to tell.
