My PC is about 2 years old, and it's specs are:
FX-6100 OC to 3.8Ghz
8Gig Ram 1600Mhz Corsair Blue
500 Gig HD
GTX650 1gb
600W Bronze Rated Thermaltake TR2

It used to start up and load my processes in about 1 minute, now it takes about 5

It's irritating... Any suggestions
I am going to upgrade to the Steamroller when it comes out, so if it's my CPU, then I'll upgrade soon anyways.

Solution
Many possibilities to this problems. Viruses, Malware, HDD filled up with useless crap (temp files) etc etc. You can try to defrag it. But definitely if it went from booting up in 1 minute to the next week taking 5 seems like a virus.

No its not your CPU, your entire build should start up fast, (how bout that Samsung 840 EVO SSD?) You need to control your startup programs when windows boots. There is a settings in task manager on windows 8 and 8.1 for this but if you are on an older OS you will need a program with a startup manager to stop some things at boot. (I use Advanced SystemCare)

You shouldn't need a third party program with a start up manager, just type "msconfig" in the run menu and it will bring up with windows startup manager, find out what is loading up at the start and determine what you don't need. If you have a bunch of programs loading up off the bat they will often take longer than starting each one consecutively since the hard drive will be thrashing about a bit so you won't benefit from contiguous read speed.

Forgot to mention. In windows 7/8 there is a tab in the taskmanager called "Startup." Lets you know of all programs that boot up at start and lets you take off whichever u dont want to boot with. :) CTRL ALT DELETE to open task manager.

I knew about MSConfig, and I went in and disabled Nvidia GeForce Experience on Startup, which always seemed glitchy for me, and extremely slow, and the startup speed is much better, I will also be running a defrag. Thanks for the suggestions, I was confused about that person's third party malware, and had already started tinkering around. The only programs that are slow to startup are Steam and Spotify, but it is running much better.
