Furmark is an application designed to stress the GPU by maximizing power draw well beyond any real world application or game. In some cases, this could lead to slowdown of the graphics card due to hitting over-temperature or over-current protection mechanisms. These protection mechanisms are designed to ensure the safe operation of the graphics card. Using Furmark or other applications to disable these protection mechanisms can result in permanent damage to the graphics card and void the manufacturer's warranty. Both AMD and Nvidia do application detection and throttle their GPUs when running Furmark, if you want to really test properly you'll need to disable that application detection or fool it by renaming the Furmark executable. It's best to play a game like BF4 or a gpu demanding game/heaven bench mark

Also,
There's absolutely no way to know how the card has been used before. A graphics card will perform roughly as NEW until something goes wrong.
