Hi everyone,

I recently bought a new CPU Cooler (DeepCool Gamma Archer) for my am3 mobo, when i got it i tried to install it but it didn't fit i though this strange, but there is a weird see-saw type mechanism that makes it impossible to connect both sides to the plate.

There is either something wrong with this particular CPU or the guys at deepcool have a few problems because even when the clamps are at their lowest point when the cooler is on the CPU it for some reason still can't reach, it is either a design flaw or something wrong with my specific cooler.

I put taller screws in which are about 1.5cm taller than the average CPU cooler clamp plate screw and it removes the problem but it wiggles a little, I need to know if this is safe or if it will burn my house down.

I really need help with this please

Thanks to anyone who has a clue on what im trying to say.

Solution
lol its like installing the original default stock cooler. Make sure you choose a best answer so that others can see your forum for help in the future.

you have to have the old amd heatsink mounting bracket to install the cooler i think you need to put side with no hinge clip thingy in the first side then pull the bar across and put the side with the hinge in and push the hinge down to secure the heatsink with pictures of deep cools website i can only give u a guess. Sorry if this doesn't work

@17baby i think he's confused because most coolers come with a mounting bracket of there own but this cooler to mount on amd sockets you must have the default mounting bracket the motherboard comes with

Ok so looking at the picture it shows that the part that touches the cpu comes out further than the part that touches the mobo, im not stupid but shouldnt the part that touches the cpu shorter?
