Hello everyone, i would like to ask about VPN. Recently i browsed in the internet and found out that we are able to have a free, super fast internet connection by using only vpn and ssh. Some of them require me to pay but some others do not. Obviously, i experimented with the free ones, but i do not know why i can't connect to the vpn which they have provided. I suppose that they lied about that. But my real question is, is it really possible to speed up my internet connection by using only the VPN and SSH? I really need it since the internet in my country is very slow. Thanks for your attention.

VPNs do not normally offer any speed improvement over a direct connection - not sure where you heard that.
They're usually slower; the only reasons to use them are anonymity, avoiding geographical blocking, or access to a secure network (which isn't the type you can buy from a VPN operator).

Hello Outlander04 and Someone Somewhere, at first i also think like you two, but somehow their product seemed real and their customers says it is possible. Okay then, i will reconsider buying their product. Now my second question is, how to build my own vpn?

Some VPNs have compression built in. However, this isn't going to affect pre-compressed content, which most of what you download is already.
To DIY a VPN, you'd need a server (possibly a virtual one) in a datacentre somewhere with a good internet connection.

To clarify, Virtual Private Network was intended that your at Business XYZ and your Sales people need to be 'out with the customer' but need to get 'critical files or system resources' ONLY accessible inside your secured network (don't want anyone just accessing your accounts and customer info files right?). So the VPN creates a tunnel from Laptop/Phone/PC/etc. through the 'Internet connection' to the target PRIVATE network (i.e. JoeSalesUser Laptop>>Wifi Starbucks>> Internet +++VPN+++ JoeCompany.COM Firewall >> Access Sales Account server >>> Open Customer Credit Card file to charge for new sales).
This is what it is, does, and intended for. Private usage for 'foreign' countries as noted (like China) are to circumvent restrictions, monitoring, etc. imposed by that country. So typically PartyMember Laptop >> WifiCafe >> ++++VPN+++ >>>STATE INTERNET Monitoring / filter>>> VPN service provider (those that charge you money you mention) in Netherlands >>> reconnect and redirect VPN to Internet >> Now access Porn website, AntiGovWebsite, etc.
