I have a hot swap bay on the top of my rosewill black hawk case. I have made the registry key changes in Windows 8.1 ENT and enabled AHCI in the BIOS.

When i insert a drive into the bay windows recognizes the drive but I can't seem to find an "eject" option anywhere. When i right click the drive in explorer there is no eject option. In the system tray when I click the icon to safely remove drive the only one I have available to eject is an external USB drive. The BIOS is updated to the most current version. I have read a few forums but haven't had much luck. Seen a few things about drivers but they were regarding Intel based systems.

Is there a driver I am missing? If possible I don't want to have to use third party software if I don't have to.

On a side note a western digital 500gb drive I tried to format that was mounted to the hotswap bay fails. Not sure why? I haven't tried to format any other dirve out of fear of damaging a HDD.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please and thanks.

I know what you mean. My PC at my office (Custome built AMD AM3 build) Does have a eject feature, but my Intel Board at home (Asus P4N-D Socket 775 Does not. Me I just yank the drive out. I never have any issues using my Hot Swap Caddy and just swapping in and out drives with out an eject button. And honestly the Eject button is only for Pre-XP or if you have it set to so it needs the Eject Button. So yea you should be just find on just yanking the drive out without issue.
