I recently bought a used acer 5552-7819. There is a bios password in it. I found out after I got it home. The former owner does not know what the password is. I have spent 2 days reading (till my eyes bleed) about this issue. So for I have tried.. removal of mother board battery, shorting the battery, removal of both batts and pressing the power button, tried esc on boot, f12 on boot, f10 on boot, f8 on boot, upgrading the bios to 2.4 and then changing the values in the ini file.. so all the values have been to 1 from 0 to flash the bios on start up, ( which is part of this method http://www.citronix.net/blog/how-to-remove-a-bios-password-from-an-insyde-h2o-efi-bios/ ) I have tried cmos wiping tools etc etc etc

I mean I have tried everything I have read and nothing has worked. Does anyone have a method for removing the bios password this guy put in? The problem is .. I cant access the bios to change to boot priorities.

Thanks for the help

Ok thanks... yes f2 is how to access the bios.. that is where it needs the password. I did take the batteries (both) out for over 24 hours.. password still there... I have not seen the "6 zeros" thing before... will try it right now...fingers crossed!!

Thanks for the help... I did that already.. no go... I think this the insyde EFI bios?? Screen goes so fast I cant read it.. any way I think the bois is the one where in stead of it being in the cmos.. its in something called an epprom?? I tried this tool http://boginjr.com/it/sw/dev/de-cmos3/ but must confess I don't really understand what I am doing with it... I thought doing a total cmos wipe with it would brick the machine.. but it didn't... it still fires up into windows.. but I still cant access the bois to change the boot order.

Welll maybe you could be a nice guy and pm a link?? I spent 2 days on this so far...with no solution. I googled it as well and within 5 min found tons of solutions... none of them worked. That's why I need the help. I have seen bios lock out questions asked and answered a billion times on this forum...read most of them.. only problem is none of them worked. So if you could be a nice guy and let me know what to do .. that would be great. I am not locked out of the lap top. It starts and runs.. I just want to change the boot order.
