I have been considering getting a new GPU for Christmas. I currently have an i7 3770k and a GTX 660. I planned on getting 2x760s and going SLI and getting rid of my 660. However, I have been wondering if it would be better to just go 660 SLI or even tri SLI if that's possible? It would cost me less to get 2 more 660s than 2 760s. How stable is GTX 660 Tri SLI and is it even possible? Thanks.

According to some sites, new GPU are releasing this fall, maybe wait until then and consider again. Getting another 660 is enough for most modern 1080P gaming.

a single gpu is best if it can handle the load, instead of buying 2 more 660's grab a 770 4gb. I think that should cost bout the same. a 770 4gb will run most games out today at 5760x1080 (3 monitor surround) with playable fps. so if u only plan on one monitor, a 770 will rock ur socks off!
when implementing sli, u can run into problems, some games refuse to use sli n will force u to disable it to play um. also my buddy runs sli, n some times has tearing and artifacts, seems to be a pain to me. I know my single 770 4gb runs everything no problem!

One more GTX660 should be plenty to keep reasonably up to date for another year or two if you get it when the new ones come out, or at least I'm hoping it will be for me. Was expecting to grab my 2nd one when the 700s came out and the price dropped some as it was discontinued, but they stiffed us by keeping it in the lineup. Another 660 and I think I'm good to go for a couple years.

Thanks very much guys. I think I'm going to go for the single 780 to conclude; or the 770 and maybe a new monitor. I'm really unsure. Thank you both very much though. Any further suggestions are welcome.
