I just built my first computer and picture won't show on the monitor. The GPU, CPU, and case fans all work. The disc drive also works. The monitor can tell that it is connected to the GPU because when I unplug it, the monitor says to check the connection. Also the monitor is saying that it can't support dual monitors when I have only one monitor plugged in ( I think that's because my GPU can support two monitors). All help would be greatly appreciated.

Also my monitor goes into power saver mode every time I turn it on.

Is the GPU plugged into the slot closest to the CPU?
