This Custom Vs. Alienware x51

Hey, so i decided to build my first gaming pc (on a budget) the specs are:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5ghz
GPU: RADEON HD 7870
Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3
PSU: EVGA 500W
a 500GB 7200 rotations HD
4GB Ram (for now, will get more later)

how does that fare against the x51 wich specs are:
CPU: 4th gen i5 (4 cores) 3.4GhZ
GPU:GTX 745
and the rest is pretty much the x51 default... (im still a noob at this so please be gentle xD)

they are both desktops, i heard the x51 isnt too good ( can still all the new/upcoming games) and i could probably build a better one for like half the price, the result was that custom build...if it is indeed better i think all im missing is a case, a Cd/dvd/blue ray drive and the OS lol
