Corsair Vengeance RAM and ASUS Sabertooth x79 compatability problems

Hello,

I recently bought a whole series of parts to build a new computer, but my problem lies with the ASUS Sabertooth x79 motherboard not at all recognizing my Corsair Vengeance RAM (8x8GB, 1866 MHz).

The DRAM light on the mobo is on, no beep, no POST, just a blank, black screen. I thought it was the BIOS not recognizing the RAM, so I updated it to its most recent version. No dice. No stick, in any DIMM slot, does the trick, MemOK does not help in the slightest.

Nothing else on the motherboard appears to be wrong or malfunctioning, and I find it VERY hard to believe that all of the sticks are bad. I would change the BIOS settings, but can't do that if I can't even see the screen to begin with.

I'm at a total loss here and any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hey, figured I give a little update on the situation, as it's changed since I first posted.

So ASUS had a BIOS update after I had posted here, so I updated the BIOS again to the newest version. Now getting a short beep and nothing else. Manual hints that it might not be detecting my keyboard. This seems to be accurate as it does the same thing with no RAM in the board, giving off one short beep instead of one long beep with 2 short beeps (which indicates a RAM problem).

So it's entirely possible it's not even MAKING it to the RAM before I reach a problem. My keyboard is plugged in and connected to a USB slot. I have a hunch it might need to be connected to the PS2 port, but I have no connectors for that.

So, to sum it up, the RAM might be fine and I'm just being an idiot. As before, any other advice on this matter would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Yeah, makes me wish I didn't throw away that PS2 connector. Anyways, bought a new USB to PS2 connector, tried it, still nothing, DRAM light still on, still no POST screen.

Really didn't get the chance to work on it much today. Conversations with a few computer-savvy co-workers gave me little to go on without physically showing them the rig. Thinking a conversation with ASUS and/or Corsair tech support is unavoidable at this point. Hate to be pessimistic, but I'm thinking there might be a real problem here and not just me being absentminded about something.
