Hello!

I have been researching monitors for my new build for the past few days.

I'll be running a GTX 770, with games like Rust, DayZ, Left 4 Dead, and other shooters, and I have been really turned onto IPS screens.

I understand that an IPS cannot compete in speed with a TN of it's price value, but a TN cannot compare to an IPS's image quality.

The sacrifice is definitely there, and I think an IPS is the way to go, but is the sacrifice in speed going to be VERY noticeable for me? I need someone else's opinion!

I have really been looking into the Dell P2414H.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260149

$188 after Promo: 23.8" IPS, 8ms, full adjustable stand, 250cm/m2,

My budget is loosely around $170-$220.

Should I go for it, or should I go for something else?

Thank you for reading this, and for your responses!

I probably should have supplied a little more information. I do a little bit of graphic work, and I'm not an extremely heavy gamer. I play a lot of games, but not a multitude of them.

I have done research, and I have seen the difference in screen quality, and I'm in love with IPS. Is there a good screen for around $200 where I can make a good compromise of quality and speed so that I can use an IPS for gaming?

Would I honestly notice drastic input lag with this IPS while gaming?

Thank you for your help.

I was only showing the monitor, this monitor keeps at average 5ms response time while still maintaining an IPS display. Just do a little research on Amazon. If you are a light gamer, take a look at the more affordable HP Pavilion IPS displays.
