Hello.

So, I am going to be putting an NZXT Kraken x61 into my build and need to know how the fan situation goes with a push pull configuration. For the fans under the radiator, do they push air up or down, and for the ones above, push up or down? I am guessing this works the same way as the x60, right? Thanks for your help in advance.

Solution

No. They both face upwards out of the case. That's if you're mounting the radiator on the top part of your case. Wherever you are mounting the radiator, make all of the fans face outwards (same direction). So by doing this you should have the 2 fans under the radiator facing the radiator (facing up), and the 2 fans on top of the radiator facing upwards out of your case (up as well).

The optimal configuration you want is to have the fans pushing air through the radiator and out of the case. So the fans inside your case below the radiator will push towards the radiator, and if you have fans on top of the radiator you want them to pull air out of the case. If it were backwards you would be pushing hot air into your case. If you have room for a push/pull that's great, if not then just do a push configuration. Temps won't make much of a difference either way.
