Hey guys,

We have an employee who is encountering a 'Not Enough Memory' error when attempting to open a certain Excel file on their Mac. These files can be accessed by several employees on different machines, but the problem is only happening on the one. I know 'Not Enough Memory' is a default error that can apply because of a range of problems, and we believe it's happening due to the file being in .xlsx format. If it is saved as an .xls, they can open the file, but otherwise cannot. The file contains a number of formulas, and wouldn't be viable to change the original file to .xls format.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to alleviate this problem I would greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks,
Tom

What size file (in mb)?

How much unused ram is there? (Should be heaps, but just checking)

Does it all show up in Task Manager, Performance?

Have you run Memtest on it?

Are there Excel settings on this pc different to the other pcs?

Can it open other xlsx files?

I haven't much time to talk inbetween work, so I'll leave it short.

Plenty of RAM, low file size, does Mac have a task manager? No the settings are the same. Can open other .xlsx files.

Thanks again.

OK - then no problems then. Good luck! I'm in a hurry and have to go too.

Sorry, did I offend you? I'm currently at work, and figured I'd ask on here. I can't give very detail responses because of this, but the computer is identical to other employees' computers. I don't know why this issue is happening.
