I have a question about the standoffs for your mainboard in the case.

Do I need to install every standoffs for every mounting holes in the mainboard or can I leave 1 - 2 out ?

Thanks !

Solution

If you have to leave it out then just leave it out, it will still work fine just be a little more careful when moving the tower or messing with the insides etc :)

You can leave some out, but why would you? Your motherboard would be more prone to flexing

Because I have a case which supports atx mobo but one of the standoffs hole is kinda further away of the hole from the mainboard so yah...

You should use ALL standoffs. They are grounding points for different components on the motherboard. I didn't install all of them one time before and my soundblaster sound card started shooting sparks out. They told me at the shop that all standoffs need to be installed and the backplate is a ground also. That was 8 years ago now and I always recommend installing all of them now.

Also if your screws aren't lining up then you most likely have the motherboard improperly installed. Usually that is what causes them to not line up. Make sure that the backplate is lined up to the motherboard inputs properly. That is usually where it brings up causing a misalignment.

+1...what he said! Use all the stand-offs.

and btw i will get this mobo and case

mobo : http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme3/

Case : http://www.aerocool.com.tw/index.php/2012/10-october/36-case/pgs-b/169-xpredatorevil-blue-information

Yes, you SHOULD use all the standoffs but it's not absolutely necessary - one of my previous matx cases didn't even have all the required holes for my board, didn't stop it working just fine for 2+ years though

That may of worked out fine for you, but that doesn't mean it'll be fine for eveyone, lol. It's just bad advice to say you don't need to install them all. You don't even know what screws/standoffs he would be leaving out....
