i7 dual core vs core 2 quad

2.8 Dual core means 5.6Ghz in total while the 2.2Ghz quad core means 8.8Ghz in total. Just FYI.
Yes there is a noticeable difference between the speed of both. Everything loads faster on the 2.2Ghz quad core as there are four processors making it possible to work on the heaviest process like video editing easily. You can play the most advanced games without any kind of lag situation in any case. ^^This is definitley not correct. Things do not scale like that. Even in a perfect world where there is 100% utilization of every core/thread 2.2gzh dual core does not equate to "4.4ghz of processing power"....based off of the lack of information on the first post/question you are not looking for a detailed answer. So I will give you a brief one. Yes there is a difference between the two. Core 2 quad is a much older generation of cpus with a less effiecient less "powerful" architeture design. There are many different versions of i7 as intel has been using this nomenclature for a few years now but even the earliest i7 is a great deal more advanced than core 2 quad.
