Power connectors on my video card

Building a PC, almost done but my video card has one 6-pin and one 8-pin power connector on it, do I need to plug both in? And if so, can I use the same power cable (8-pin connector at PSU end, then another 8-pin [well, 6+2] with a 6-pin sort of daisy-chained past it)?

Thanks for your help.

If it has two cables you really should use two cables, as it will share the load between the different rails of your PSU.

Yes, and yes.

Yes you need to plug in both and yes you use the same power cable - assuming you don't have another 6 pin connector on another cable

Thanks for the answers. I could use two cables, but using only one would be neater. Is there any disadvantage to using a single one?
