So my friend has a Gigabyte 650ti boost that he bought from Ebuyer and since he got the card it has been having problems. After booting up the pc and once he reaches the starting windows screen he gets a load of green horizontal lines on the screen which then proceeds to black screen. He says that he has to restart the pc multiple times to get it working. He has already tried un clocking it and has tried different versions of Nvidia drivers, some of which don't work at all.

The card has been sent to ebuyer 3 times and each time they have told him that there is nothing wrong with the card, which does not sound right as he has tried his older card which works without problems. Does anyone know what the issue could be? (He has started the pc in safe mode and it starts up normally).

The thing about faulty components or if your not happy, is that you have to react fast. If you purchased online & your from the UK you are covered under the distance selling regulations for up to 7 days. Personally i'd just return an item & get my money back rather then RMA it, as often they will just say "there is nothing wrong with it".

Did you uninstall the previous drivers from any GPU you had before ? In safe mode you can use this tool to start fresh with graphics drivers: http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweepe...

Also, if you have a PC or know someone that does & can handle this card, try it out in another system to see if it develops the same fault or not. if it does, you have a stronger case to put to Ebuyer.

Thanks for the answer, unfortunately my friend seems to have stopped gaming completely, haven't spoken to him in a while so not sure what did happen with that card.
