!44hz monitor in crossfire mode

Hi I went ahead and bought a 144hz an AOC G2460PQU 24 inch monitor but it wont run in games at 144hz in cross fire mode it just crashes the system although it will run at 110hz, at 120hz it has serious screen corruption e.g spinning screen etc and at 144hz it just crashes completely and does a memory dump.

I'm running two identical MSI 7870 OC 2 gig cards in Crossfire these are very reliable even in crossfire as is the rest of the system. Does anyone have any suggestions? If i turn off crossfire it will work at 144hz or set the monitor to 110hz in crossfire its fine other than that I don't have a clue.

Hi the issue is now sorted after much searching on google it seems that with crossfire you can only run up to 120hz which I can now without any problems. Above that you have to put an extra bridge between the cards. Which you can't with a 7870 as you can only run a 7870 in dual config as they only have a connection for one bridge on each of the cards. Triple and quad configs are not possible with a 7870. You learn something new everyday!

However now that is sorted I'm very impressed with the AOC Monitor at 120hz its brilliant and completely does away with the need to use v-sync mode in games which is hardware intensive.

Actually perhaps my solution that you cant have 144hz in crossfire was incorrect because now its decided to display at 144hz without crashing and I have no idea why but hey I've no problem with that just happy its happy.

From my experience I could never get my two BENQ 120hz monitors to work in parallel . I'm interested in this

Surely that would only work if you had 2 DVI outputs on your GPU if the BENQ are like the AOC 144HZ and only run at that refresh rate if connected to DVI output. They don't output 144hz with either the display port or HDMI on the AOC
