so this is my build:
CPU: fx 8320
GPU's: GTX 660 two way SLI
MOBO:GA-990XA-UD3
Hard driver: one 1TB 7200RPM
SSD (for games because I installed windows on the HDD)
OS: windows 8.1
Cooler: CM hyper EVO 212
Case: CM 912 plus
Ram: 8 ram with cl11 and (2133MHz I know stupid idea for no reason and less performance than cheaper ram because of the CL11 run at only 1600mhz)
PSU: XFX 750 pro black edition full modular

In November I will have £600 to spend on my PC and the upgrade I was think is changing to Intel with CPU:Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor and MOBO:Asus Maximus VI Formula ATX LGA1150 Motherboard and ram:Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory and windows 8.1 pro for £50 for student. I want to do this upgrade to be super future proof and to stop any lag in game such as skyrim heavy modded, and Rome total war 2 because they are shuttering and lagging like there been played on an AMD dual core from the stone age... I have chosen this new ram because that high performance rami have now is point less and I would get no advantage of it and I thought 16gb would be good for gaming and awesome for the future!!! I will be buying on black Friday so I will have to make my mind up by then!
not sure if I should get an I5 or the newest I7 but I really want to see a high performance increase in games!

thanks for reading and please help me out and please make some suggestions to what I should get instead or to keep ECT...

i5-4690k (you should be going with DC's by now), 8GB of 1866 CL9 RAM, a good Z97 board, ASRock Fatal1ty ones have been performing well, and sell the 660s to get a good single GPU.

if I squeeze as much money as I can from saving I could get £660 so I could at a I7 4790k or is that too far and stupid or would I see a massive increase in performance???

Well, I see the new i7 as worth it -only- if you have the funds to get it. Otherwise I'd go with the i5-4690k and a better GPU. The new CPUs should have been released fairly recently, or in my case, should release in the next 2 days as I am in the states.

You can get a GTX 770 for close to the same price as 2 660s. You should get the 770. Alot less problems when running just one card, plus it will be alot cooler inside your case. Not to mention that not all games support sli or work well with it.

Yes that is true, but when a game supports SLI the two GTX 660's are more powerful than a single GTX 770...? I think? or am I just been plane stupid?? :p

SLI 660s are likely as fast, or a little faster than a single 770. That being said, a vasty majority of major game releases support SLI.
