I am worried about my laptop, i think it might get too hot while gaming and i downloaded a temp monitoring software called 'Real Temp'. It says my temp is at 50C (while just browsing. It also says my distance to TJ max is 52C. Is that bad or good..? How hot should it get while gaming..?

i have a Intel i5-4200M 2.5ghz processor. (in case you needed to know)

laptops get very hot while gaming and that is totally normal. Small form factor pc not a lot of room for cooling = going to run hotter. 50c is nothing to be worried about at all. If the laptop gets too hot and becomes unsafe and risks damaging itself it will shut down. If you want to get the best cooling performance out your laptop you could try getting in there and cleaning out the fan/fans and possibly re applying better thermal paste. IMO this is a huge pain in the butt on most laptops and not worth the small gains you recieve....the vendor designed the laptop with the intent the hard ware is going to be pushed.

I have an older gaming laptop (second gen i5 with a 5870m) and that thing gets very hot when gaming...upwards of 70c...the cooling for it isnt the best its only got one fan and heatsink for both the gpu and cpu....80c would start to be a concern but anything under that is fine...you could also consider purchasing a cooling pad for your laptop...this provides great airflow under the laptop and keeps the fans sucking in cool air.
