Title says it all!I had this exact issue when I was AMD (like literally a week ago). What processor do you have?
I've an fx 8350, my goal is 5 ghz! (swiftech h320 as the cooler)
Do you have the h320 and is it compatible with your case? Also, remember, socket temps are something you need to look out for with AMD. I had to strap the stock cooler's fan to the back of my motherboard to cool me at 4 GHz. 5 GHz seems a little high, as well. It is even hard for a custom loop to sustain that. Remember, the 9590 is built on higher quality silicon. Does your PSU support it? I would probably go with the Sabertooth because its cooling on the VRMs is about the same and it is a little bit less money. The Crosshair has a lot of unnecessary features.

Well, i ordered the h320, i have an h110 so far, but i'm RMA'ing it. The h320 should be here in 2-8 business days. I have an NZXT H440 Mid tower, it has room for 2 360mm rad's, but I can't actually put 2 360 rads. On the top, there is clearing issues with the memory holders, not the memory itself. But nonetheless, I can still fit the h320 in. The 9590 is something I won't get for another while, considering it's price. I am able to do the max OC recommended for my current motherboard so far, so I know I can still go farther than 4.6 ghz. I wish I got the 9590, I can if I save up and advance RMA my 8350, but I have to do that within a few weeks time, not sure if I can get that money in that time period!

Not saying to go with the 9590, just saying that not all chips are created equally. You have to see if you can GET to 5 GHz first with a reasonable voltage before assuming. Just because you can get to 4.6 doesn't mean you can get to 5.0 GHz. As you go higher in clock, the CPU needs more voltage than the last increase. It is a slope.

IIRC the Swiftec H320 is a 3x120mm fan radiator (360+ mm long). Make sure your case can fit it.It will definitely keep your CPU nice an cool. The power circuit and chipset will be the challenge. Both boards you are considering should be fine though.
Between these 2 boards I would go with the Sabertooth. I've read more information on overclocking and tweaking with it.
alright, thanks. Is the 9590 able to be used in an Asrock 990fx fatal1ty motherboard? If it can, I can get the fx 9590, and then use that and not need to OC at all!

If you can afford the 9590, go with a 4790k when it comes out. You will be much happier with the performance. It performs better than the 9590 at stock speeds and can easily be overclocked to 4.5 GHz+ with that cooler for the same money. As I said in another thread, go with a 4790k/4770k (I would wait 2 days for the 4790k) and go with a board like the Z97-A or MSI Z97 Gaming board. You won't have to worry about socket temps with Intel.

Do you live near a microcenter? They have great bundles. Also, there is a LOT of extra performance.

Haha no, I wish! I live in new york city actually. The fx 9370 is actually only 229 dollars! If I get it, I could overclock it to 5 ghz + and have a 9590!

Yes, but then you have to deal with heat, and the performance will still not be anywhere near that of the 4770k. You could even get a 4670k if you want. What exactly are you overclocking for? What is the point?

I'm overclocking because I want the best performance possible, I have a 700 watt PSU, so I should be fine on the CPU end. Again, the 4770k is $40 more than the 9590, and 120 more than the 9370!

Yes, but the 4770k has much better performance. The 9590 and 4770k are actually about the same amount of money. Point is, Intel will get you MUCH better performance. The 4770k at stock beats the 9590 at stock and is WAY far ahead of the 9370. You will get better power consumption, better physics, and everything. As somebody that just came from an AMD system, I would say that Intel is SO much better if you can afford it. I overclocked my 8320 to 4.8 GHz and got about the same performance as a 3.9 GHz 4770k in synthetic benchmarks. My 3DMark11 and Fire Strike scores went up over 2000. I also found that I can actually overclock my RAM to make performance even BETTER. Intel pretty much doubles RAM performance, 2D performance, and of course, gaming.

I'd have to wait like a month or so to save up for the motherboard and cpu, i really can't wait that long!
