Hello everyone! I'm new to these forums, so sorry if I've done anything wrong.

I've built a PC using PCPartPicker, and before I order it I'd love some feedback on it. I plan on upgrading individual features in the far future, so I've tried to future proof it as much as possible.

I plan on using the PC for Gaming, Video Editing, Rendering, Uploading, Browsing, Programming.

My budget is give or take around £1000. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/ZrQvqs

Thanks. :)

Try going with the Z97-A or something like that. You won't really need the Maximus VI Hero. Also, why are you going with a Z87 board? Z97 boards have a lot more features. I am currently very happy on my Gigabyte Z97X-SOC FORCE with my 4770k.

Also, the 4770k runs hot. That...

Also, the 4770k runs hot. That cooler might not be enough for any overclocking. I would maybe get an R9 280 and get a better cooler, like the NZXT Kraken X60 or Cooler Master Seidon 240M or Nepton 280L. I am running a Corsair H105 and can barely run at 4.6 GHz @ 1.46 V (EXTREMELY HIGH, OS doesn't like anything higher than 4.3 GHz @ 1.25 V without hitting 1.4 V. I am at 4 GHz @ 1.2 V and still get up to 60 C when gaming, with that cooler, you would get up to probably 80 C, which will shorten the life of your CPU.

+1 for this

Unless you are a heavy overclocker you will be good with something like an Asus Z97 Extreme 4 or an MSI Gamer board. See this recent Tom's article for more insights:

Saving a little on the motherboard will also allow you to bump the CPU up to a Devils Canyon I7 4790K with minimal impact on total cost.

That is about the same and has more features because it is a newer chipset. The 4770k/4790k have built-in VRMs, so it shouldn't make too much of a difference. You don't need the features of the ROG board. If you are seriously planning on overclocking, go with the board I have, or the MSI and ASRock equivalent. There is no need for ROG.

That would be just fine. There are always other companies, too, like Gigabyte, ASRock, MSI, etc. To answer your question, that works just fine.

Okay, great! Another concern I had with changing things was that it wouldn't all fit? Apparently the current graphics card is very big, so would it fit on this motherboard still?

Oh yeah. I have 2 R9 270x's in Crossfire on my board. As long as it has PCI-E x16, you are fine. The Z97-A has that.

Will the Hyper 212 EVO be good enough for light over clocking, or do I really need to get a better one? From what I've read the 212 is really good for the price? :)
