Hi guys, i want to buy a
1tb hard disk for my
rig.Its gonna be my
primary drive.First i was
buying WD caviar green
1tb because it was cheap,
but after reading lot of
reviews i am thinking of
getting either WD caviar
blue wd10ezex or SEAGATE baracuda
ST1000DM003.Seagate
give 1 year warranty
whereas WD give 2years
minimum.
Please suggest
me which one these is
better and
why ? Thanks

When it comes to reliability, performance, durability then the first name which comes to my name is WD and I've recommended these drives a lot. For your need just stick with WD Black or WD Blue series HDD and you'll be much better off with either of them.

Between a Blue and a 'Cuda? I'd take the Blue, because I've always liked WD drives. Others would take the 'Cuda, because they like Seagates. The thing is this: the real differences between these drives is so incredibly small you stand almost NO chance of being able to see it. Whether you like your new drive will be based more on how lucky you get, and how you treat it, than on which brand you buy. Even stepping up to a WD Black would probably make more difference in your mind than it would in your machine.

Best of luck with the new storage.

Go with the WD Blue. I have the same you seagate hard drive you brought up. Has a known problem where it makes a mettalic noise every once in a while. Super annoying.
