Sounds like some malicious software is trying to cut the connection.
What you can try is to acces the "restore windows from a earlier date" or something similar, can be found under Control Panel > System and security > Backup and Restore.
What you want to do is back the computer back a few days before the patch was applied to your computer.
Usually doesnt take that long to run it.
If you got connection when you´re done then i highly suggest you scan your compute for malware with Malwarebtyes - https://www.malwarebytes.org/
If it does not work, try booting the computer in Safe mode with network while starting up and then download the Malwarebytes from there and run it.
