my vcore is set to offset mode but under load it peaks at 1.45v which is too high and cause my pc to freeze. i tried to manually set it to 1.4v. but when i do that my vcore stays at 1.4v even at idle. note its not OC
specs: a6 6400k
Asus A88x pro

Make sure it is at 1.4 V. It stays at where you set it even at idle. Do not use offset mode.

ok. but will keeping it at 1.4v reduce the life of the cpu? or should i slightly lower it?

I looked this up. Why do you have your vcore so high? The stock vcore is around 1.1 V. Your PC probably freezes and shuts off due to temperature issues, not because the VCORE is too low. Is it overclocked?

asus Ai suite automatically OC my cpu without my knowing to 4.4ghz. then after i updated the bios my clock speeds went back to normal but my vcore stayed on offset mode at 1.456v. but what should my voltage be at then 1.275v? like it says here?http://

If you are at 4.1 GHz, 1.2 V is good. 4.0 is fine at 1.15. 3.9 is fine at 1.1 V. Do not let ASUS overclock your CPU. Try to get knowledge on overclocking your CPU first. Only overclock if you have good aftermarket cooling like a closed loop watercooler.

With that, you can probably push it to maybe 4.5 @ 1.425 V. That is what most people can achieve. What motherboard do you have?

Alright, you are fine. Just move VCORE to 1.425 and clock to 4.4 or 4.5. Good luck.
