What about sound cards or network adapters, are the ones that come with this motherboard okay

Solution
You don't need thermal compound.

Buy aftermarket CPU cooler like Noctua NH-D14/15, NH-U14S, CM EVO 212, Corsair H100i etc

Why not Z97 series mobo?

Why not Haswell Refresh CPU?

Don't buy CX series from Corsair. For this setup 650W would be plenty. By Corsair HX 650 or Seasonic/XFX series PSU.

You can use sound card of Hero mobo. It is good one.

Buy any cheap wireless adapter from TP-Link or D-Link.
