All I got was the power led flashing on and right back off. It wouldn't even flash that light again until I unplugged the psu and plugged it back in.... bad mobo? Ive already sent my cpu and mobo and case back

Well then, it's really hard to diagnose if one of your parts is faulty since you no longer have all of them. You wouldn't happen to have a second PC you could test the parts in?

Don't see an issue, but if I were you if go to www.pcpartpicker.com and put in all the parts you used and at the top it should say "All parts are compatible" in green. If I says that, I would look back to make sure you wired everything up correctly

Well sounds like either a bad power supply or motherboard. Do you have a multimeter? Do a check on the power supply.
