My 2 usb 3.0 ports are not working on Lenovo S510p under Windows 7. I bought the computer with Win8 installed, and the ports were working. I downgraded to Win7 ultimate by formatting the HD. I took the drivers from the Lenovo website, and all work (no yellow alerts in the device manager), but not the two usb 3. the only way to make them working is to disable and then enable the drivers. However, as soon as I disconnect the device (usb pen, mouse....), the problem reoccurs (again it does not recognise any device). I did try to reinstall the drivers, but no luck. Lenovo support said: why don t just reinstall windows 8? (useless answer of course)
thanks for your help

Solution

yes I found it. start the computer with the mouse plugged in the usb3 port; in this way it is recognised by the bios and both ports will work fine
it is a BIOS issue at the end, which i have empirically solved
the support of Lenovo is useless

i found the solution

Right click on my computer > Manage

Go to Device Manager on the left

on the "universal serial bus controllers, double click on Generic USB Hub, Go to the Power Management Tab and uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Do the same for Intel(R) USB 3.0 Root Hub and USB Root Hub.

And there we go

its works for me :)
