Hey I'm going to buy a gfx card for an upgrade from my r9 270x... My previous card is quite good I'd say but watch dogs at ultra 1080p the card gave just 32 fps avg...
So that is quite disatisfactory... And don't blame watch dogs pls guys cause Thats the game I'm dying for.. I can drain pocket partially to make it playable on ultra.. I just want a decent 45-50 fps on ultra for smooth game play.. I can afford a r9 280x but there is also r9 280 available in the market.. And in case of the 270x and the 270 people are saying They are just 5-6 % improve on performance.. Is that the same case with r9 280x also? Then I'll save a few bucks buying the 280.

Solution
Hey,

1) WATCH DOGS is currently being fixed. The Video RAM always fills up and then starts to constantly stutter as it swaps to disk. It does this even with 3GB of VRAM.

2) An R9-280X is about 28% more powerful than an R9-270X so it's a little hard to recommend upgrading, and only going to an R9-280 is nuts IMO.

3) The quality scales quite nicely. If you keep your R9-270X the game will still look almost as good at a lower setting, especially if you tweak the settings carefully.

Some of the settings are very demanding and don't make that much difference.

4) If your CPU isn't powerful enough it may bottleneck things a bit.

SUMMARY:
My advice is just WAIT for the game to...
if you want to see any noticable and worthy performance increase you need at least an R9 280x. even this wouldnt be such a huge improvement though

''I don’t recommend upgrading your graphics card unless the replacement card is at least three tiers higher. Otherwise, the upgrade is somewhat parallel, and you may not even notice any worthwhile difference in performance'' as said in http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html

My advice is just WAIT for the game to be fixed then play it with your current setup and tweak for the best visual experience using 40FPS and VSYNC OFF (provided the screen tearing isn't too bad).

Thank you +photonboy...
I don't see any bottleneck with my cpu core i5 3450.....
The cpu usage is 80% when the GPU is utilized 99%...
I am getting 48 fps avg on high settings which is pretty good and highest is 60 fps.. I over clocked it with 1150 mhz GPU core clock and 1500 mhz memory...
Is there very much or a bit difference I will notice between high and ultra preset?
